The Killers have recorded "A Great Big Sled" as their first Christmas single, and 100% of the proceeds from the song will go to (Red), an economic initiative founded by U2's Bono and Bobby Shriver that delivers private-sector money to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. The song will be released December 1 on iTunes and AOL Music, and Yahoo! Music will release the video December 7.

Another component of (Red) is (Product) Red, a partnership of international companies including Apple, Motorola, Gap, and American Express who earmark a percentage of profits or sales from a particular product to contributions to the Global Fund. (The Advocate)
