Nearly 400 books (a record number) have been nominated for Lambda Literary Awards this year in 25 categories.

Executive Director Charles Flowers said that he was thrilled at the amount of books published with LGBTQ content in 2006. A group of 147 large and small publishers, self-published authors, and university presses in the U.S., Canada, and Australia submitted entries.

Top finalists in each category will be announced on March 1 and readings by the finalists will take place in New York and San Francisco in April. Winners will be announced May 31 at a gala awards ceremony in New York. To see the complete list of nominated books visit LambdaLiterary.org's award site.
