Little Britain comes to HBO for American series

British comedy Little Britain will make its way across the pond this fall for a six-part series on HBO. Stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams are set to join the cast of new and other existing characters, the BBC reports.

The show will be a sketch program set in contemporary America, with new story lines and reimagined existing characters.

Little Britain began as a radio show six years ago and became a stage show before moving to television, where it won eight Royal Television Society awards, three awards from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and an International Emmy.

According to the BBC, HBO Entertainment senior vice president Nancy Geller described Lucas and Walliams as "two of the most exciting new comedy voices to emerge in recent years." (The Advocate)
