The show, which was the first lesbian prime-time show when it premiered in 2004, is about a group of women in Los Angeles, navigating careers, families, friendships, personal struggles, and romantic relationships.
"This is by no means the end of The L Word," cocreator Ilene Chaiken said in a press release. "The brand and the social network community, OurChart.com, will continue to live and be a destination for lesbians everywhere and a lasting tribute to what The L Word has accomplished."
The season 5 finale is set to air on March 23. (The Advocate)
