At the star-studded Los Angeles stop on her Sticky & Sweet world tour, Madonna praised the election of Barack Obama but criticized the passage of California's Proposition 8.

Following flawless performances that included musical cameos with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake -- separately, of course -- she took a moment to talk to the Dodger Stadium audience. After urging the crowd to move closer to the stage, the pop star reminded audiences that they had a lot to celebrate regarding Obama. Huge portraits of the president-elect appeared on a video screen to deafening cheers and catcalls.

But then Madonna addressed the subject of Prop. 8.

"Now, there's only one disappointment," she said. "I'm very sorry to hear that we did not win on Proposition 8. But we will never give up the fight. No, we will not, we will never. All right -- we got an African-American in the White House, we can have gay marriages."

The audience cheered, and some "No on Prop. 8" signs could be seen among the tens of thousands in attendance. (Neal Broverman, The Advocate)
