Lynn Redgrave Dead at 67
Lynn Redgrave, the Tony and Oscar-nominated actress and sister of Vanessa Redgrave, died Sunday at her home in Connecticut of complications from breast cancer.
"Our beloved mother Lynn Rachel passed away peacefully after a seven-year journey with breast cancer," her children, Ben, Pema, and Annabel, said in a statement Monday. "She lived, loved and worked harder than ever before. The endless memories she created as a mother, grandmother, writer, actor and friend will sustain us for the rest of our lives. Our entire family asks for privacy through this difficult time."
Redgrave received Oscar nominations for her work in Georgy Girl and Gods and Monsters; in the latter she played the housemaid of gay Frankenstein director James Whale (Ian McKellen). Both Lynn and Vanessa have talked openly about their father, actor Michael Redgrave, who was bisexual.
Redgrave most recently appeared on-screen last year in the film Confessions of a Shopaholic.
