10. DVD: What's Your Number
The luminous Anna Faris stars in Mark Mylod's charming rom-com now on DVD -- based on Karyn Bosnak's book 20 Times a Lady -- about Ally, a Bostonian who, with the help of a skin-baring neighbor played by Chris Evans, tracks down 20 ex-boyfriends played by the likes of Joel McHale and Zachary Quinto. Brother to Brother's Anthony Mackie appears as Tom, a college ex who says Ally opened his eyes to the fact that he's gay.

9. TV: Southland
This intensely gritty TNT cop drama stars O.C. cutie Benjamin McKenzie and 227's Regina King, but we've been completely arrested by Michael Cudlitz, who has turned stereotypes on their head as semicloseted gay LAPD patrol officer John Cooper. We've seen him wake up in bed with a lover and score pain meds in a gay bar, but we hope we learn more about his dating life when the fourth season premieres January 17 with new star Lucy Liu.

8. CD: Silence! The Musical
The original cast recording of Jon and Al Kaplan's unauthorized parody of The Silence of the Lambs features Jenn Harris, who does a dead-on Jodie Foster as Clarice; Brent Barrett, who croons with killer charm as Dr. Lecter; Steven Bienskie as penis-tucking murderer Buffalo Bill; and, poking fun at Ms. Foster, Deidre Goodwin as a lesbian love interest. 7. TV: Days of Our Lives
Former Queer Eye personality Jai Rodriguez is now appearing on the long-running daytime drama Days of Our Lives as Mateo, an old buddy of Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith), and the two of them present healthy gay role models for Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and help to make him comfortable in his own skin. Watch it weekdays on NBC.

6. MUSIC: Matt Alber, Constant Crows
Out crooner Matt Alber -- a two-time Grammy-winner as part of the a capella group Chanticleer --wraps his rich baritone voice around 10 folk-pop ballads on his latest release, Constant Crows. The album's gem is probably his plaintive cover of Madonna's "Take A Bow" -- full of wistful longing and resolve. MattAlber.com

You say you want a revolution? Well, you know ... Tim Gunn and Ty Pennington are among the five lifestyle experts who transform the lives of women in this highly anticipated new daytime series. While in real time the women's journeys to improve different aspects of their lives -- whether learning to cook healthily, exercise properly, or just add a little spice -- played out over the course of five months, through the magic of television viewers can see the results in five days. Premieres January 16 on ABC.

4. FILM: The Broken Tower
If you require more evidence that no one is more dedicated to playing real-life gay characters than James Franco, look no further. The multi-hyphenate performer wrote, directed, and stars in this biography of the Jazz Age-era, mostly gay poet Hart Crane. Franco the director gets a committed performance from Franco the actor, who even performs a certain sex act on a prosthetic phallus. Franco's equally sexy younger brother Dave and Michael Shannon costar in this moody biopic that's now available on VOD and digital platforms now via Focus World.

3. THEATER: Jackie Five-Oh!
Veteran Broadway broad Jackie Hoffman (Hairspray, Xanadu) recalls her uncelebrated stint as Grandma in the critically maligned musical The Addams Family, while also delivering impersonations of icons like Mary Tyler Moore and kvetching about her hypochondria, her quest to star in a Holocaust movie, and the time she lost her SAG benefits after getting replaced by Queen Latifah in What Happens in Vegas. Hoffman will perform Jackie Five-Oh! at L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center's Renberg Theatre January 13-22, with proceeds from ticket sales benefiting the center.

2. DVD: Dirty Girl
Out January 17 on DVD, gay filmmaker Abe Sylvia's spirited feel-good debut feature stars Kaboom's Juno Temple stars as a rebellious Oklahoma teen who in 1987 takes a musical fantasy-fueled road trip to California with classmate Clarke (out newcomer Jeremy Dozier), a fat gay loner escaping his abusive father. 1. The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards
If the Academy Awards is the equivalent of the Super Bowl to gay guys, then the Golden Globe Awards must resemble a really great pre-game tailgate party. Tune into NBC January 15 to watch A-listers like Bradley Cooper, Madonna, and Queen Latifah squirm in their seats while returning host Ricky Gervais delivers withering barbs. Plus you can root for your favorite LGBT-themed entertainment of last year, with projects such as Albert Nobbs, Beginners, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and American Horror Story among prominent nominees.
