10. DVD: Friends With Kids

Jennifer Westfeldt, still best known as an actress for playing the lez-curious single lady in Kissing Jessica Stein, writes and directs this talky ensemble comedy about two longtime friends who decide to go halves on a baby. A bevy of Bridesmaids costars, including Westfeldt's boyfriend Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph, Chris O'Dowd, and the great Kristen Wiig do what they can to elevate the sometimes shrill material.

9. DVD: The Beat Hotel

Exhausted and outraged following the landmark obscenity trials surrounding his poem Howl, Allen Ginsberg fled to Paris in 1957 with lover Peter Orlovsky and close friend Gregory Corso to take refuge at a cheap hotel in the city's Latin Quarter. Alan Govenar's documentary vividly combines vintage footage, photographs, interviews, and stylized dramatic re-creations to recall a fascinating period in Beat history. Available on DVD Tuesday.

8. THEATER: Mommie Queerest

The rocky relationship between Hollywood's most notorious mother, Joan Crawford, and most put-upon daughter--that would be Christina--gets yet another twist. Playwright Jamie Morris, who also portrays Crawford, speculated on how their infamous struggles would have played out had the great screen star actually been a man. 7. MUSIC: "Pieces of Gold," Aiku

Like us, you probably wish the music in porn was better. The French electropop band Aikiu does as well. In the video for its Daft Punk-ian song "Pieces of Gold," the band snagged some vintage gay porn clips and spliced them with images of band members playing their instruments.
