10. MUSIC: Beyonce Exclusive Remixes
French producer Monsieur Adi gives two of Beyonce's tracks the electro-house treatment exclusively for Out.com. Adi, who first gained notice for his remixes of Ellie Goulding, was handpicked by Beyonce to serve as the official DJ of the European leg of The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. The 27-year-old musician opened every show but one, setting the tone for each live concert experience. Listen to his versions of the infectious "Blow" and "XO," which is transformed into a club-friendly power-pop ballad only at Out.com-- Sunnivie Brydum
9. BOOK: Dorothy Must Die
In this wonderfully fun reimagining of the land of Oz, Dorothy found a way to return to Oz and seize power, becoming a dark tyrannical ruler of the region. No longer can good witches be trusted, bad witches might be the new good guys (er, gals), and our heroine -- a different girl from Kansas named Amy -- has been recruited to go to Oz and take down Dorothy's administration. This young adult book is gritty, modern, and delightfully compelling. Danielle Paige's Dorothy Must Die -- a reimagining of L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz series in a way you've never seen before -- arrives on the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz. And for folks too busy (or lazy) to read: it's already slated to become a CW series by Heroes creator Tim Kring. -- Diane Anderson-Minshall
8. TV: Mad Men: The Final Season
The finale of Mad Men Season 6 ended with a series of sorry affairs for Don Draper, leaving the once-prosperous ad executive out of a job, a mistress, and a wife. New York has become a dark place for many of the show's characters, which has led many of them to transplant to the West Coast. Season 7, the final season for the popular AMC drama, will showcase California in the late 1960s, epitomized by hippies, minidresses, and a psychedelic soundtrack. How will the dark-suited Draper deal with this change of scene? Tune in Sunday, April 13 at 10 p.m. Eastern on AMC to find out. Watch the trailer below. -- Daniel Reynolds
7. EVENT: Transgender History Tour
The folks who put together Los Angeles's Pride celebration, Christopher Street West, have organized a pretty great-sounding tour for history buffs who have a particular interest in the lives of transgender people. The tour includes a glimpse of materials documenting the history of transgender activism, particularly in Los Angeles. Dive into the fascinating fight over "Rule 9," led by Sir Lady Java, to overturn the law that banned cross-dressing; Angela Douglas and the foundation of the Transsexual Action Organization; and Reed Erickson's influential Erickson Educational Foundation. Hosted at the ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at University of Southern California Libraries on Sunday, April 13 at 5:30 p.m. To RSVP, email info@lapride.org -- Michelle Garcia
6. DVD: I Am Divine
Jeffrey Schwarz is no stranger to the art of the documentary. His latest, I Am Divine, is a portrait of America's most famous and controversial drag queen. Divine is perhaps best known as John Waters' muse -- the drag queen who, in her quest to become the filthiest person in the world, ate dog feces in the cult classic Pink Flamingos. But Schwarz literally cuts the crap, providing a candid portrait of the man behind the makeup -- Harris Glenn Milstead -- and his rise from an overweight and effeminate child from the Baltimore suburbs to "Drag Queen of the Century," as dubbed by People magazine. The documentary includes interviews with John Waters, Ricki Lake, Bruce Vilanch, Tab Hunter, Michael Musto, and many more of Divine's friends and contemporaries. -- Daniel Reynolds
5. TV: Fargo
It's a new "true crime" story with new actors (Billie Bob Thornton and Dexter's Colin Hanks among the highlights), but FX's new series, Fargo, has all the dark humor, cruel murder, and "Minnesota Nice" of the original, now classic, 1996 Cohen brothers' film. As a 10-episode mini-series -- think American Horror Story but with fewer gays at the outset -- Fargo is sure to attract lesbian fans for two characters: smart and tough rookie cop Molly Solverson, played by Alison Tolman, who was most recently seen on Logo's Sordid Lives: The Series, and Greta Grimly, the football-loving, BB gun-toting tomboy daughter of a cop, played by Joey King (who was awesome in The Conjuring). The show premiers Tuesday, April 15. To prepare this weekend, check out the recently released, newly remastered Blu-ray of the film, Fargo, in which every actor is superb, from hapless William H. Macy to the very chipper (get it?) and prego police chief played by Frances McDormand. -- Diane Anderson-Minshall
4. DVD: Hot Guys With Guns
Doug Spearman wanted his new film to feel like Lethal Weapon -- if Danny Glover and Mel Gibson were better looking and ex-boyfriends. Hot Guys With Guns is indeed a worthy gay action-comedy-thriller that mixes '40s noir with '80s buddy action comedies. It follows Danny Lohman, an an actor who learns to be a private investigator in order to get a part. But after learning about a crime wave targeting Hollywood's elite (including Pip, Danny's spoiled, trust-fund ex), Danny, Pip, and Danny's investigator mentor Jimmy team up to solve the case, facing danger and drama along the way. It's a fun ride with some great insider humor and nods to film and theater history. (His name is Lohman; get the nod to the famous salesman?) Even better, it's a real rarity: a gay action movie you'll want to watch again and again. -- Diane Anderson-Minshall
3. EVENT: 2014 Tribeca Film Festival
Barney Frank, Susan Sontag, transgender Puerto Ricans, and more are among the subjects of LGBT interest in films at this year's edition of the New York City festival cofounded by Robert De Niro. The fest opens Thursday and runs through April 27, offering more than 80 feature-length films and dozens of shorts at several downtown venues. LGBT-themed documentaries to be screened include Compared to What: The Improbable Journey of Barney Frank, with the former congressman reflecting on his career and the role being gay played in it, to be followed by an onstage conversation between Frank and Alec Baldwin; An Honest Liar, a profile of magician and debunker James "The Amazing" Randi, who happens to be gay; Mala Mala, a celebration of Puerto Rico's transgender community; and Regarding Susan Sontag, a study of the eminent cultural critic, with her words read by Patricia Clarkson. Among narrative films, some of the gay must-sees are Love Is Strange, starring John Lithgow and Alfred Molina as a couple whose marriage results in job loss, and from Sweden, Something Must Break, about a supposedly straight man drawn to a man who defies gender norms. The fest also features a variety of talks with filmmakers, including one in which out director Lee Daniels will sit down with Robin Roberts. Events offering art, music, and more will fill the entire Tribeca neighborhood. A bonus: Sponsor AT&T is offering free tickets to all films screening April 25; you can reserve them beginning Monday. Find all the info here. -- Trudy Ring
2. MUSIC: Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival
Coachella, the annual music and arts festival, returns this year to the Empire Polo Club Fields in Indio, Calif., for two weekends (April 11-13 and April 18-20) of stellar performances. Some of the best bands from around the world will be featured this year, with a lineup that is headlined by Outkast, Muse, and Arcade Fire. But don't miss other world-class groups like Fatboy Slim, Foster The People, Skrillex, Lana Del Ray, DJ Falcon, HAIM, Zedd, and more. Check out the full roster at coachella.com. -- Daniel Reynolds
1. TV: MTV Movie Awards
The MTV Movie Awards kicks off this Sunday, and it promises to be the most flaming yet. Literally, the production promises a series of fiery special effects that should match well with the red-haired host of the evening, funnyman Conan O'Brien. The event will also feature a host of red-hot celebrities, including Jared Leto, Lupita Nyong'o, Zac Efron, Seth MacFarlane, Nicki Minaj, Cameron Diaz, Mila Kunis, Shailene Woodley, this year's MTV Generation Award-winner Mark Wahlberg, and Channing Tatum, who will receive the Trailblazer Award. In addition to movie stars, the Awards will also showcase the musical talents of Twenty One Pilots, Ellie Goulding, Zedd, as well as Eminen and Rihanna, who will sing their hit collaborative song "The Monster." The 2014 MTV Movie Awards will air Sunday, April 13, live at 9 p.m. Eastern. Watch a promo of O'Brien showing off the show's planned special effects below. -- Daniel Reynolds
