10. MUSIC: Hendra, Ben Watt
Ben Watt, writer, DJ, and male force behind legendary Brit band Everything But the Girl, releases his second solo album Tuesday (his first, North Marine Drive, came out 31 years ago). The quiet collection of 10 songs is a long way from the 1990s dance classic "Missing," but Watt has weightier issues than club life on his mind, like mourning and gun control. Listen to the title track below. - Neal Broverman

7. THEATER: The Mystery of Irma Vep
The late Charles Ludlam's classic send-up of gothic melodramas, with dashes of Poe, Hitchcock, and Shakespeare, gets a 30th-anniversary revival in New York City. After the mysterious death of his first wife, the titular Irma, Lord Edgar brings new mate Lady Enid to his creepy estate, Mandacrest, where werewolves, vampires, and mummies lurk. Two actors play multiple roles under the direction of Everett Quinton, Ludlam's life partner, who costarred with him in the original production. Red Bull Theater presents the show at the Lucille Lortel Theater in Greenwich Village; it runs through May 11, and there will be onstage discussions after the next two Sunday matinees. 6. EVENT: The Significance of LGBT Pulp Fiction
Pulp fiction may have started out as a genre of subpar novels with racy subject matter, but so many of the titles that defined the genre have practically become classics, especially within LGBT fiction. Gay and lesbian pulp fiction started in the 1930s and exploded by the 1960s, creating a "golden age" of the era. Take a trip into the past (or down memory lane) with the One Archives Foundation's retrospective of LGBT Pulp Fiction Tuesday at the Palm Springs Public Library in Palm Springs, Calif., featuring author Katherine V. Forrest. - Michelle Garcia

5. TV: Faking It
This week marked the debut of Faking It, MTV's teen comedy about two high school girls who fake a relationship with each other in order to achieve popularity. While the premise has raised a few eyebrows among LGBT audiences, Faking It's heart is certainly in the right place, portraying a fictional world of acceptance that's meant to serve as an example for the real world. "It's something that we want people to look up to and say ... that's something we can live up to and maybe create one day," said actress Rita Volk at a recent panel. In the pilot episode, now available online, Volk's character, Amy, shares a public kiss with her best friend, revealing through lovelorn looks that she may not be faking her affection after all. It's a twist that will certainly pull viewers back for more Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. Eastern. Watch the trailer below. - Daniel Reynolds
