Musical theater buffs, gather round.
In an exclusive for The Advocate, operatic pop singer Josh Groban shares a video for his version of The Wizard of Oz classic "Over The Rainbow," an early single from his exciting new album, Stages, (available April 28) the singer's tribute to the musical theater songs that continue to inspire him.
Recorded with a 75-piece orchestra, the songs on Stages run the gamut from Les Miz's "Bring Him Home" and A Chorus Line's "What I Did For Love" to The Fantasticks' "Try To Remember" and Into The Woods's "Children Will Listen."
The singer also puts his own spin on the celebratory "Pure Imagination," originally sung by Gene Wilder in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.
The album features special guests in the form of pop icon Kelly Clarkson, Broadway star Audra McDonald, and Grammy-winning trumpeter Chris Botti.
