Out singer Sir Ari Gold has teamed up with EDM producer Subgroover to form the new dance-pop collective GoldNation, and fans will be happy to hear the group's debut album Soundtrack to Freedom will be available August 7.

Soundtrack to Freedom features a handful of cheekily-titled songs such as "Sex Like A Porn Star" and "Take Your Shirt Off," while Gold's lyrics continue to delve deeper into his favorite topics -- LGBT freedom and sexual liberation in general.

You can hear for yourself as GoldNation exclusively premieres "Take Your Shirt Off" today with The Advocate.

Gold says the sexy single is a tribute of sorts.

"I wanted to pay respect to what is really a gay tradition -- taking your shirt off on the dance floor," Gold tells The Advocate. "Now you see all the kids doing it at all the EDM festivals, but it started in the gay clubs."

The song is a perfect example of Soundtrack To Freedom's blend of politics and dance-pop, and might surprise those who think dance music has no message.

"The song epitomizes the premise of the entire album because I believe that dance music has been the soundtrack to the liberation of sexuality, in the same way that folk music was for the feminist movement or soul music for civil rights," says Gold.

"Dance music is not as frivolous as its reputation can be. Dance music can be smart, soulful, and liberating. A song like "Take Your Shirt Off" may sound like a silly dance music slogan, but if you read between the lines it's about still feeling like LGBT people have a culture and community even with greater acceptance and greater integration," he says, "I come from the (activist and ACT-UP founder) Larry Kramer school of thought about our culture and community. I guess I'm old school that way."
