Noah’s Arc, the popular Logo TV show from the early aughts, will be returning this year, the show’s director said at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., over the weekend.
While accepting an award at the SpeakOut “I AM” Awards, Patrik-Ian Polk, the director, made some news that excited fans welcomed once word spread.
“I’m very happy to confirm that there is indeed more Noah’s Arc coming,” Polk said, Gaye Magazinereports. “That’s right. You heard it here first at the I Am Awards. Breaking news: Noah’s Arc is coming back.”
The show follows Noah (Darryl Stephens) and his friends Alex (Rodney Chester), Chance (Doug Spearman), and Ricky (Christian Vincent) as they navigate the pitfalls of the gay dating scene in Los Angeles.
Noah’s Arc was a groundbreaking comedy-drama that was the first to feature a cast of Black and gay characters who comprised the regular cast on the show.
The series also provided insight into topics like marriage equality, LGBTQ+ families, HIV and AIDS awareness, and intolerance.
It was canceled in 2007 following a dramatic cliffhanger at the end of the second season.
In 2008 and 2020, Noah and friends were back in the feature film Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom and the e-special Noah’s Arc: The Rona Chronicles.
In the past, fans of the show have often asked Polk and the cast whether there will be more episodes to come.
On Sunday after the ceremony, Stephens added a little something extra to his Instagram posts as a way to sweeten the pot for his fans.
“You’re about to be sick of us. #NoahsArc is COMING BACK. The entire original cast (even the few not in attendance last night)," he wrote.
Stephens also took to Twitter to reveal the project would be a movie for MTV.
