Yet another Paris museum is set to highlight the work of Claude Cahun, whose message on gender identity becomes only more relevant in the years after the artist's death.
Bloombergnotes that a major exhibition at the Jeu de Paume is the late artist's second in 15 years, with the last coming at the Musee d'Art Moderne. Her work has been named by many artists as an inspiration.
Many of the images at the Jeu de Paume are self portraits, but they are hardly repetitive. Cahun died in 1954 after a lifetime's portfolio of roles recorded in her photos. Some of them follow on the next pages. - Lucas Grindley
