The current season of American Horror Story: Coven hasn't finished yet, but series producer Ryan Murphy has already teased details about next season to Entertainment Weekly.

"It's set in 1950. ... If you look historically what happened in the year 1950, there's some more clues in that year," Murphy told EW. "It's a period piece. We try and do the opposite of what we've done before. Jessica Lange has already started practicing her German accent, so I'm very excited!"

While nothing can be taken for granted in the acclaimed but quirky show, 1950 did see America take center stage in global politics following World War II. The Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union intensified, and the U.S. entered into a hot war Korea. With tensions high, it's no surprise that the '50s saw an increase in atomic bomb testing as well. Could Lange's character be a scientist involved with nuclear energy or a spy for the super powers?

The current season of the much-lauded horror anthology opened to record ratings and has been a consistent hit for network FX.

Coven features Oscar- and Emmy-winner Lange as Fiona Goode, the leader of a group of modern witches. Additional cast members include series mainstays Frances Conroy, Denis O'Hare, and Sarah Paulson as well as celebrated actresses Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone, and Gabourey Sidibe.
