Shot on opening night, a new featurette spotlights the stars and creative team behind Broadway's Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
As Hedwig might say, "I do love a warm hand on my entrance."
A new featurette, filmed on opening night, spotlights the stars and creative team behind the Tony-nominated Broadway debut of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, including out star Neil Patrick Harris and out director Michael Mayer.
"It's all about love and it's all about loving yourself," says David Burtka, Harris's partner, on the red carpet. Other opening night revelers include RuPaul, Perez Hilton, Zac Posen, Michael Kors, and Yoko Ono.
John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask's cult rock musical opened April 22 at the Belasco Theatre with Harris, a recent Tony nominee and Out cover boy, starring as Hedwig, a fictional East German singer and "slip of a girly boy" living as a female after botched gender-reassignment surgery. Tony nominee Lena Hall plays Yitzhak, Hedwig's husband and backup singer, who's desperate to unleash his inner drag diva.
