The gay blogger and media mogul channeled Rosie O'Donnell as a special guest of the Skivvies, a duo that performs in their underwear.
As the Skivvies, New York performers Nick Cearley and Lauren Molina strip down to their underwear to play stripped-down covers of pop songs. Polarizing gay blogger Perez Hilton joined the duo as a special guest Saturday at 54 Below.
Expressing his desire to one day perform in a Broadway show, Hilton sang "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee" from Grease, "Mr. Cellophane" from Chicago, "Out Tonight" from Rent, and Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" from Rock of Ages.
The media mogul told the crowd that he was inspired by Rosie O'Donnell, whom he described as "not the best singer in the world." He added, "If Rosie O'Donnell can be on Broadway in a musical, then I can sing with the Skivvies."
Hilton, ne Mario Lavandeira, earned a drama degree from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and made his off-Broadway debut in 2012 in NEWSical the Musical. The single dad relocated from Los Angeles to New York City last summer.
Hilton, who has repeatedly shown off his healthier physique in recent years, joined Skivvies guests Greg Hildreth (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Rebecca Naomi Jones (Murder Ballad), Andy Karl (Rocky), Leslie McDonel (American Idiot), Orfeh (Legally Blonde), and Kate Rockwell (Bring It On: The Musical).
