Evangelical Christian minister James Dobson, founder of the right-wing group Focus on the Family, has a new reason Christians should not show compassion for LGBT people -- according to him, the B in LGBT stands for "orgies."
"I've been thinking about those pastors, those people in the clergy who are compassionate to those who have attractions to same-sex individuals," Dobson said on his radio program Friday. "So their inclination is to be all inclusive and put their arm around them. I would like them to think, just for a moment, about 'LGBT.' The 'B' stands for bisexual. That's orgies! Are you really going to support this?"
Earlier in the program, Dobson claimed that ministers who spoke the "truth" about homosexuality were at risk of being charged as "accomplices" to hate crimes.
"In hate crime legislations, if you so much as speak out against homosexuality and somebody hears you over the radio, television, or in your congregation and then goes out and acts a hate crime against a protected class, in this case a homosexual, you will be an accomplice and an accessory to that crime for having spoken what you believe is the truth," he said.
Dobson admitted that to his knowledge, no minister has been charged as an accomplice to a hate crime. Yet, he claims, "homosexual activists" are coming soon for those more visible Christians just like the Christian bakers who, according to him, were "targeted" to send a message.
