Kellogg's has featured a same-sex couple in a new adverstisement for Corn Flakes.

Chris Hall and Mark Hearfield, who have been together 22 years, were selected to appear in one of eight commercials airing in the United Kingdom for the #myperfectbowl campaign.

The cereal brand chose the participants through social media, after asking its followers what constitutes a "perfect bowl" of Corn Flakes. Hall, 42, said he liked to add honey and "piping" hot milk, while Hearfield prefers his cereal at room temperature. In the ad, the couple also debated the health benefits of incorporating blueberries and kale.

"We can't wait to see it on the television, Chris can't sleep he's that excited," Hearfield, 59, told the Bury Times. "It was so much fun to be involved and we love the pictures that were shot for the campaign. At the end of the day, it's not every day you get to be in a Kellogg's advert."

A spokesperson for Kellogg's said, "We have seen a change in how people are eating cereal but also in what they are having for breakfast and we wanted to capture how our customers are eating cornflakes."

Previously, Kellogg's went purple for Spirit Day, an event sponsored by GLAAD that shows support for LGBT youth. The Human Rights Campaign also named the company as one of the best places to work for LGBT employees.
