Corpus Christi's Agave Jalisco restaurant has taken commendable action against an employee who humiliated a gay couple, firing the employee, apologizing for his behavior, and instituting sensitivity training for employees.

Sandra Clement described the antigay incident on Facebook, saying she took her son, Miguel, and his boyfriend to the restaurant last week. When the men hugged, an employee pointed at them, yelled an antigay slur in Spanish, and sung the epithet as he walked into the kitchen; Sandra Clement claimed other employees laughed.

The restaurant announced on Friday they had fired the homophobic employee and apologized profusely for his actions, Dallas News reports.

Sandra Clement, a local principal, expressed appreciation for the restaurant's actions and deleted previous posts on the incident.
