A self-described "high-tech bear couple" appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show Tuesday, discussing their reasoning for buying and maintaining JebBushforPresident.com.

While living in Austin in 2008, the couple watched several antigay laws enacted in Texas and throughout the country. "[We thought] wouldn't it be funny if we could use Jeb Bush's name to educate people on LGBT issues," Phillips told Maddow. Eight dollars later the domain name was theirs. They haven't done much with the site so far, but they're hoping to use it as a forum to illustrate the hardships same-sex couples face in the U.S.
