WATCH: Stephen Colbert Outraged by Harvey Milk Stamp

Stephen Colbert is sour about the Harvey Milk stamp.

The faux conservative host of The Colbert Report ranted about the recent announcement of a forever stamp honoring the late gay political icon that will be released in May.

"A gay man on a stamp?" Colbert said incredulously about Milk, who will become the first openly gay elected official to be featured on a U.S. Postal Service stamp. "Anger!"

The 49-year-old political satirist, who was recently named heir to David Letterman as host of CBS's Late Show, said the stamp was yet another instance that the "gays are hell-bent on rubbing our noses in their lifestyle" and have "infiltrated another beloved institution," the U.S. Postal Service. He declared that appearing on a stamp is a "prestigious honor traditionally reserved for our greatest presidents and regional songbirds."

"Suddenly, if I want to mail something, I have to lick this guy's backside?" Cobert quipped. "No! No!"

"Make no mistake, folks -- if it's mail, I'm licking something."
