WATCH: Meet Rob Lowe on Grindr?

Meeting Rob Lowe on Grindr is not just the stuff of fantasy. Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday, Lowe explained he loves to use the gay dating app Grindr in totally unconventional ways.

Lowe stars in the new Fox television series The Grinder, in whichhe plays Dean Sanderson, an actor playing a lawyer on TV who "moves back to his small home town after a stint in Hollywood thinking his time on TV qualifies him to run his family's law firm," according to IMDB.

Speaking with Kimmel, Lowe said he was happy fans had already devised an app they could use to meet each other mere months after the pilot aired in September.

"Grindr is a neat networking app that lets guys who like watching The Grinder connect with other guys in their area who also like watching The Grinder so they can meet up... to watch The Grinder.... How fun is that?" Lowe exclaimed.

Scrolling through photos of guys on Grindr, Lowe says "This guy's DTF... so am I -- 'definite television fan.'"
