"Does it really take the FBI to verify he tends to lie?" Rainbow asks in the video for his new song, set to the tune of the Beatles' "Yesterday."

Randy Rainbow has a hilarious new video out, skewering Donald Trump for the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol in his efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election -- and his inability to pronounce "yesterday" when recording at sort-of apology/explanation video the day after.

In the parody of the Beatles' "Yesterday," Rainbow also addresses the recent FBI search of Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate and encourages Attorney General Merrick Garland -- who Rainbow calls "Judy" at one point -- to be swifter in taking action against Trump.

"Plain to see / how he screwed with our democracy," Rainbow sings about the man he calls the "former fake president." "Bingeing Big Macs while he watched TV / this jizz stain on our history."

"Does it really take the FBI to verify he tends to lie?" Rainbow asks.

He then tells Garland, "Step on it, sis," about a possible indictment of Trump. "'Cause he's getting ready to announce, and we can't let him be president again. I'm running out of show tunes!"

Watch below, with Rainbow donning Beatle wigs, FBI caps, and more.

Trudy Ring is The Advocate’s senior politics editor and copy chief. She has been a reporter and editor for daily newspapers and LGBTQ+ weeklies/monthlies, trade magazines, and reference books. She is a political junkie who thinks even the wonkiest details are fascinating, and she always loves to see political candidates who are groundbreaking in some way. She enjoys writing about other topics as well, including religion (she’s interested in what people believe and why), literature, theater, and film. Trudy is a proud “old movie weirdo” and loves the Hollywood films of the 1930s and ’40s above all others. Other interests include classic rock music (Bruce Springsteen rules!) and history. Oh, and she was a Jeopardy! contestant back in 1998 and won two games. Not up there with Amy Schneider, but Trudy still takes pride in this achievement.
