Police in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., are searching for a gunman who fired shots in a gay club Saturday, wounding one patron.

The gunman began shooting inside Boardwalk, a club featuring male strippers, shortly after 10 p.m., witnesses told the Sun Sentinel.

"The first one was a couple shots," said Jeffrey Koket, who heard the shots while watching TV at his home across the street from the club. "Then the second round was like boom, boom, boom. Then all of a sudden, the police arrived."

One man was wounded and taken to Broward Health Medical Center, Det. Keven Dupree of the Fort Lauderdale police told the paper. His injuries were not life-threatening, and he is expected to make a full recovery.

"The suspect fled on foot and despite a search by K-9 and air, the culprit was not located," Dupree added.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-8477.
