A young member of the Kennedy family was arrested at an Aspen nightclub for standing up for a gay friend, according to the Aspen Daily News.

Conor Kennedy was at the Bootsy Bellows nightclub when his friend was called a faggot, according to the report. Kennedy reprimanded the men who'd used the slur, and they attacked him.

In the end, it was Kennedy -- a 6-foot-5 Harvard rugby player -- who was pulled off the men. He was seen punching one in the head.

Conor Kennedy is the grandson of the late Robert F. Kennedy, a noted civil rights advocate and former attorney general. Conor Kennedy's father, Robert Kennedy Jr., issued a supportive statement reported by the Aspen Times.

"Conor has always reacted against bullying," said Robert Kennedy Jr. "I'm happy he stood up for his friend."
