Adult film entertainer Steven Miles (also known as Sergeant Miles) was arrested Tuesday, April 12, over his alleged involvement in the insurrection that occurred on January 6, 2021.
Miles, 39, of Zephyrhills, Fla., has been charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers, civil disorder, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds with a dangerous weapon, and related offenses, according to the Department of Justice.
The adult entertainer made an appearance in the Middle District of Florida court on Wednesday. Authorities released him pending further court proceedings in D.C.
He has reportedly voiced support for Trump. In the complaint filed by the DOJ, there's a photo of Miles wearing a black shirt that reads "Trump 2020 F*** Your Feelings" along with a "Make America Great Again" red hat.
"Miles marched in a group to the Capitol, eventually making his way to the restricted grounds of the West Front of the building. While there, he and other rioters engaged in a confrontation with police officers who were protecting the Capitol. During this confrontation, Miles shoved and attempted to punch police officers," court documents state, according to the DOJ.
He continued into the Capitol with the other rioters and participated in smashing windows of the building. Miles then went into the building and walked out, authorities say.
Phone records obtained by authorities traced a number to Miles, whose phone was connected to towers near the Capitol, court documents state.
A co-defendant, Matthew LeBrun, 33, of New Orleans, La., was arrested on April 13 on related misdemeanor charges.

Miles isn't the only LGBTQ+ person to have been arrested for participation in the insurrection. Trans former militia member Jessica Watkins faces charges of sedition in relation to January 6. Gay media personality Brandon Straka was sentenced to house arrest, probation, and a fine.
Since the insurrection, which disrupted a joint session of Congress that counted the electoral votes related to the 2020 presidential election, almost 800 alleged participants have been arrested across all 50 states in relation to crimes committed that day.
