Former RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Tyra Sanchez was arrested over the weekend for allegedly threatening to shoot police in Florida.

Sanchez, who also goes by King Tyra, was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting without violence, TMZ reported on Saturday.

The season 2 queen was involved in a minor car accident in a city outside Jacksonville called Starke. Sanchez allegedly yelled at a police officer when they arrived on the scene.

Authorities say the officer attempted to calm Sanchez down, but she was eventually being handcuffed. While the officer was trying to put them on her, Sanchez allegedly threatened to shoot the officer.

TMZ reports that police used a Taser on the drag performer. However, she managed to run away from the accident.

She was eventually taken into custody by police.

Sanchez won Drag Race and its then-$25,000 prize in 2010 and initially retired in 2020 before making a comeback in 2022.
