The Advocate is proud to be honored this month by cable network Logo at the third annual Trailblazer Honors. Held in New York City at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, the event celebrates LGBT pioneers and is honoring The Advocate as we prepare for our 50th anniversary. This year, Logo and a star-studded cast of LGBT celebrities and activists will share the story of The Advocate, from its humble beginnings to the history that has been chronicled -- and made -- in print and online.
At the Trailblazer Honors in 2015, President Obama was honored by Jason Collins and Samira Wiley, while Martin Luther King III gave a posthumous honor to Bayard Rustin. The previous year, Laverne Cox and the cast of Orange Is the New Black received an honor from Demi Lovato, and Sia performed with the New York City Gay Men's Chorus.
The 2016 annual Logo Trailblazer Honors will air on Saturday, June 25, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Logo. See Cheyenne Jackson discuss how The Advocate impacted his life below.
