The latest news about Daniel Hernandez, the out former intern of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords who is now venturing on his own career in politics. Daniel Hernandez Jr. is widely credited with providing lifesaving first aid to Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords when she was shot at an event in 2011. He was only five days on the job when tragedy struck. Hernandez was embraced as a gay hero and even threw out the opening pitch at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Phoenix.
