Hillary's Secret Weapon Isn't Sanders or Warren: It's Cher

Cher

The diva is hosting a fundraiser for the Democratic nominee next week, but until then you can be confident that her tweetstorm against Donald Trump will continue to rage.

Cher is definitely "with her" when it comes to Hillary Clinton, and thanks to the Oscar-winner's devotion to the Democratic presidential nominee, many are "with Cher."

#ImWithCher has been trending for a few days, after artist Anna Niess started pushing the hashtag on Twitter and began hawking buttons and towels with the message, with proceeds going to the gun-control group Everytown for Gun Safety. Niess told The Huffington Post that Cher's cutting Twitter feed was the impetus for the campaign.

Cher -- who will host a Hillary Clinton fundraiser in Miami Beach August 19 -- has savaged Republican nominee Donald Trump, devoting nearly her entire Twitter feed to bashing the caustic candidate (she uses a toilet emoticon every time she mentions Trump). As she's never one to mince words, Cher's social media lashings make those from Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren look tame by comparison.

Cher's appearance at next week's fundraiser is expected to attract many LGBT Clinton supporters -- not only is Cher is a legendary gay icon, she's the mom of a transgender son, Chaz Bono. Though Clinton won't be at the Miami Beach event, she will join Cher for a fundraiser later in the month -- in Provincetown.
