The Republican incumbent has fended off a fierce Democratic challenger.
Ted Cruz is projected to best Beto O'Rourke to maintain his seat in the U.S. Senate.
The Hill reports that the Republican incumbent has been elected to a second term as a Texas senator. His challenger, O'Rourke, is a youthful politician who had energized Texas Democrats like no other (except maybe legendary governor Ann Richards).

Cruz's win will help Republicans maintain control of the U.S. Senate.
