Rosie O'Donnell's daughter Chelsea, who returned home last week after being missing for several days, has left again -- to live with her birth mother in Wisconsin.

"Chelsea made a decision when she turned 18 that she wanted to go to her birth mother," O'Donnell spokeswoman Cindi Berger said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. "This was her choice." Chelsea had her 18th birthday this week.

Chelsea's birth mother, identified only as Deanna, picked her up at the O'Donnell home in Nyack, N.Y., Monday and drove her back to Wisconsin, TMZ reports. The site says O'Donnell advised her daughter not to go and is withholding financial support.

Deanna gave Chelsea up for adoption in 1997, according to TMZ. Chelsea is one of three children from O'Donnell's marriage to Kelli Carpenter.

It was reported August 18 that Chelsea had been missing from the O'Donnell home for a week and that police were searching for her. Later that day Chelsea turned up at a police station in New Jersey, 120 miles from her home. Last weekend a New Jersey man, Steven M. Sheerer, 25, was arrested in connection with Chelsea's disappearance. He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and distribution of obscene material online.
