Da Brat and Wife Jesseca Harris-Dupart Welcome a Baby Boy

Out rap legend Da Brat and her wife Jesseca “Judy” Harris-Dupart are new parents to a baby boy.

The rapper gave birth on the night of July 6 in Atlanta, weighing in at 7lb, 8 oz., according to People.

"I can't BELIEVE he came out of me!" Da Brat, 49, told the magazine. "Feels like a dream. He's PERFECT in every way."

She added that she’s feeling, “very appreciative for such a blessing of our bundle of joy” and that “this journey has been more amazing than we could’ve ever imagined.”

Harris-Dupart, 41, told People, “His name had been True Legend Harris-Dupart but now that we've met him we are tempted to name him PERFECT.”

Though, they are sticking to True, according to the magazine.

Da Brat had previously told People how marrying Harris-Dupart, the CEO of Kaleidoscope Haircare, made her a different person. She wanted “a little me.”

“Something special from the both of us that we can share and raise and love unconditionally,” she said at the time.

The couple’s son was born by using IVF. They used an egg from Harris-Dupart and an anonymous sperm donor. Harris-Dupart has three children.

Da Brat had a miscarriage earlier in her pregnancy journey.

“I had never been so excited about something that I didn't even know I wanted," she said. “I fell in love with the idea and then it was all snatched away from me. Luckily, we still had quite a few of her eggs left.”

The couple wrote on Instagram that even though people are posting photos of their child, they said those images aren’t real. They said they’ll be sharing photos of their son soon.
