'The Danish Girl' Drops Second Trailer

A second trailer of The Danish Girl has been released.

In the clip, Lili Elbe, a transgender pioneer portrayed here by actor Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything), expresses her decision to have gender reassignment surgery.

Elbe made history in 1930 by becoming one of the first to ever undergo the procedure, which in that era was experimental.

"It could kill you," says the character of Gerda Wegener (Alicia Vikander), Elbe's wife. To which Elbe replies, "It's my only hope."
