State of Pride, a new feature documentary from YouTube Originals, traces what Pride means to people in different parts of America today. It follows host Raymond Braun as he travels between major cities and rural towns across America, experiencing Pride and learning from individuals for whom the event marks a pivotal moment in their personal journey.
Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmakers Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, known for their groundbreaking work on the LGBTQ+ experience, the film offers a look at multiple perspectives of the movement 50 years after the Stonewall riots.
In this clip, gay YouTube superstar turned pop star Troye Sivan reflects on how badly he wanted to go to Pride before he came out, what it means to play concerts during Pride, and what his parents said when he first asked to go.
