‘Barbie’ Exclusive: What Makes a Ken a Ken?

“Barbie has a great day every day, but Ken only has a great day if Barbie looks at him,” a narrator says in the video below.

That explains a lot about Ken, but have you ever wondered what really makes Ken a Ken or even a Barbie a Barbie? Well, we have a little explainer by Ken actors from the new film Barbie to break down what Ken is really about.

The film stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as a version of Barbie and Ken. Barbie was helmed and co-written by Greta Gerwig.

In the exclusive featurette below, members of the cast talk about what makes Ken who he is, whatever version he is.

“Barbie rules Barbie world and the Kens are just there,” Gosling explains in the clip with a laugh.

Co-star Ncuti Gatwa explains, “Barbie runs everything. Ken looks good.”

Out actor Scott Evans said in the clip, “The thing about the Kens not having much to them is what gives them actually a lot to them.
