About 8,000 people participated in Sunday's annual AIDS Walk Colorado in Denver, the Rocky Mountain News reports. More than 500 walk teams were signed up for the event, about 100 more than last year's number, according to Diedre Maloney, executive director of the Colorado AIDS Project, one of the 30 beneficiaries of the event. Organizers say the event was expected to raise about $800,000 for the AIDS groups.
