Imitation is the highest form of flattery. First Kiss, the viral video that was written about everywhere (including here), has gone on to be viewed over 57 million times since its debut last week, and in the process has spawned several parody videos. The latest is an interesting spin that also manages to address homophobia.

First Gay Hug (A Homophobic Experiment) opens with the screen caption: "We asked 15 homophobic people to hug gay strangers... " The clip then follows the same format of First Kiss as the homophobes interact with the gays and lesbians they are paired off with and exchange some colorful dialogue. For instance, one of the men states, "I could do without the gay parade," to which the gay man he is speaking to flatly replies, "Then don't go." Another scene shows a woman telling a lesbian, "You're so pretty to be gay." There is no indication whether, like the original, the people featured in the video are actors; however, the clip is clearly meant to illustrate the ridiculous statements that sometimes come out of the mouths of uninformed heterosexuals. All the awkwardly amusing conversations are eventually punctuated with friendly hugs.

The video, which debuted Saturday on The Gay Women channel, has already surpassed 88,000 views as of this writing. While some of the comments posted on the YouTube page question the legitimacy of the clip, it should be noted that it is placed in the comedy category on YouTube.
