Canadian International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound says he doesn't agree with Russia's 'gay propaganda' ban, but other countries have much worse laws penalizing LGBT people.
The statement appears to contradict assurances made Monday by the president of the International Olympic Committee that athletes could make political statements at press conferences in Sochi.
But Thomas Bach did propose an alternate meeting with Russian activists at the IOC's headquarters in Switzerland.
