Becky and Jessa's engagement was pure joy.
The Memphis Zoo and Aquarium was home to a double proposal last Friday, when couple Becky McCabe and Jessa Gillaspie both followed through with plans to ask the other to marry them -- only moments apart.
McCabe and Gillaspie were posing for a picture together in front of the site of their first date two years ago when, to Gillaspie's apparent shock, McCabe pulled out a ring and got down on one knee.
Instead of immediately responding to her then-girlfriend's proposal, Gillaspie reacted by energetically squealing and jumping around, her attention focused to rummaging through her bag. Gillaspie then pulled out an engagement ring of her own, revealing that she, too, had been planning on proposing to her then-girlfriend the same day.
Gillaspie posted the video of the proposal to her facebook on Sunday, May 27, and as of this Wednesday, the video has upwards of 850,000 views with over 11,000 shares.
According to Gillaspie's Facebook status, she "had no idea [McCabe] planned to propose, and she had no idea I planned to propose to her! We were both so surprised!!!! We were surrounded by our friends and had the most amazing night. I am the luckiest girl in the world to be able to call her my fiance."
The couple has also posted the video of their engagement to YouTube, commenting that they were encouraged by the public to do so.
"We were told by many people to share it on youtube so that they could share it to other people! So here you are," Gillaspie posted to her Facebook, adding, "I love you Becky McCabe." The video is posted on YouTube under a profile capturing the couple's proposal in their icon, using the name "The McBabes."
