Social media sometimes gives us nice, life-affirming things. Case in point: this adorable same-sex proposal that's recently gone viral on TikTok and Twitter.

The video begins with softball player Sara Riou up to bat, only to fall down seemingly injured during a women's match in Perth, Australia. Someone on the field comes to her assistance, and they're joined by Riou's girlfriend, Jacinta Comande, coming to check on her partner. When she gets there, Riou gets up on one knee and surprises her with a proposal.

It's incredibly sweet, as it's clear that Comande is overcome with emotion. The video ends with the two kissing as their friends -- and, as it turns out, family -- looking on. Comande, who posted the video on TikTok, captioned it as "The most epic proposal I could have ever dreamt of. I love you endlessly."

Comande followed up the video with another offering a little more insight as to all the planning that went into Riou's proposal while also answering some of the questions she's received (as of this writing, the video has more than 6.5 million views and 1.7 million likes). Comande shared that both of the women's families were in the stands along with their closest friends. The catcher from the opposing team was actually Comande's best friend and her partner's coach was in on the surprise. Riou also got her father's blessing prior to the engagement. And yes, after the big moment, the game continued on.

It's all so sweet that it should come as no surprise that the video went viral again on Twitter when a user shared it there.

Regardless of the outcome of the actual game being played, it's safe to say that this proposal was a complete win for love.
