Recently, Mykki Blanco spoke out about the lack of inclusion in LGBT magazines like The Advocate.

On Twitter, the out musician and 40 Under 40 honoree, who is also a powerful voice against HIV stigma, pointed out the plethora of "shirtless white guys" on many LGBT media websites.

Using the hashtag #GayMediaSoWhite, which caught fire on Twitter among many LGBT people of color, Blanco added, "I think I will probably be dead before White Gay Media ever becomes inclusive, I think none of us living now will ever see it LMAO."

To continue the conversation on this issue, The Advocate asked the stars at the 27th annual GLAAD Media Awards, How can LGBT media, and media more broadly, be more inclusive of diverse voices?

Among those who offered insights and advice at the Los Angeles awards ceremony -- which, as part of the mission of the LGBT organization GLAAD, honors and promotes diversity in the media -- were Transparent's Alexandra Billings, GLAAD CEO Sarah Kate Ellis, Empire's Sanaa Hamri, the Prancing Elites, The Fosters' Peter Paige, RuPaul's Drag Race's Carson Kressley, I Am Cait's Jenny Boylan, and Transparent's Zackary Drucker.

Listen to their responses below. And feel free to leave suggestions and critiques in the comments.
