It was a big year for queer representation in television and film. Here are some standouts.
Which LGBT characters were you most glad to see on television or in theaters last year? This was the question The Advocate asked the stars at this year's GLAAD Media Awards an event that promotes positive depictions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the media.
Recently, The Advocate's sister site, Pride.com, gave a full report of every LGBT role currently on television. The total came to over 200 characters, which is a lot to choose from. At times, even the stars couldn't decide from all of the stellar representations currently on air.
Find out the favorite characters of Transparent's Alexandra Billings, GLAAD CEO Sarah Kate Ellis, the Prancing Elites, The Fosters' Peter Paige, RuPaul's Drag Race's Carson Kressley, I Am Cait's Jenny Boylan, Transparent's Zackary Drucker, The Bold and the Beautiful's Scott Turner Schofield, Recovery Road's Daniel Franzese, Transcendent's Bambiana, and Modd Couples' Olivia Harewood. And feel free to leave your own favorite characters in the comments.
