Alex Jones: Trans Women Are Gay Men Who Want to 'Pick Up More Guys'

Alex Jones

The far-right conspiracy theorist throws in an anti-trans slur for good measure.

In the deranged world of far-right commentator Alex Jones, transgender women are just gay men who want to "pick up more guys" -- and trans people in general are mentally ill.

Jones's rant on his eponymous radio show (also available on his Infowars website) started with a denunciation of news coverage of a British transgender man who recently gave birth to a child. Calling the Briton a man is "fraud," Jones said, as he is merely "a woman that thinks she's a man."

"It's not that I hate mentally ill people," Jones continued. "If somebody wants to go be a woman or be a tranny, if it's a gay guy and wants to go pick up more guys, you want to go get breast implants and doll your hair up, knock yourself out. I'm all for freedom."

Jones obviously doesn't know much about transgender people if he thinks anyone takes the difficult and complicated process of transitioning so lightly. But he's known for wild claims with no basis in fact, and he's had to back off of some -- such as that the Sandy Hook school shooting was a hoax and that Hillary Clinton ran a child prostitution ring from a pizza parlor in Washington, D.C. Oh, and he attempted to justify his threatening, homophobic rant against U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff was an "art performance.

She is a political junkie who thinks even the wonkiest details are fascinating, and she always loves to see political candidates who are groundbreaking in some way. She enjoys writing about other topics as well, including religion (she’s interested in what people believe and why), literature, theater, and film. Trudy is a proud “old movie weirdo” and loves the Hollywood films of the 1930s and ’40s above all others. Other interests include classic rock music (Bruce Springsteen rules!) and history. Oh, and she was a Jeopardy! contestant back in 1998 and won two games. Not up there with Amy Schneider, but Trudy still takes pride in this achievement.
