The NBC anchor still standing after first solo costume reveal.
Anchors on NBC's Today revealed an '80s theme for its annual costume reveals. It's the first time around since Hoda Kotb became cohost on the morning news show, and she pulled out a show-stopper as a period-specific Elton John.
"It's so much fun to play this guy," Kotb said.
The drag costume involved a bald cap and glam white suit as she invoked the spirit of the out rocker.
With the 1980s mystique informing the line-up of costumes this year, anchors came out in a parade of gay icons and allies or the era.
Savannah Guthrie donned a Cyndi Lauper jean jacket circa "Girls Just Want To Have Fun." Sheinelle Jones put on a larger-than-life Tina Turner wig. Kathy Lee Gifford slinked into a "Material Girl"-era Madonna gown.
And Kotb wasn't the only anchor in drag. Dylan Dreyer dressed up as Michael J. Fox's Marty McFly character from Back to the Future. Meanwhile, Jenna Bush Hager, a Today correspondent and former first daughter, dressed up as Goose from Top Gun.
