Wearing ensembles unlike anything ever seen at the MTV Video Music Awards, Miley Cyrus went from insane to inspired to downright bizarre.

The pop singer, wearing Simone Harouche's otherworldly designs, was introduced by LGBT youth for her closing number. The youth were all featured in Cyrus's Happy Hippy Foundation's InstaPride campaign. Cyrus's performance with the Flaming Lips also featured some popular drag queens.

The showstopping number included a number of RuPaul's Drag Race contestants, among them favorites Shangela, Willam, Carmen Carrera, Pandora Boxx, Sharon Needles, Violet Chachki, Laganja Estranja, Latrice Royale, Alyssa Edwards and many others. Adding to the colorful chaos, Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne managed to shoot off a confetti rocket from Cyrus' crotch.

Last week, Cyrus revealed in an interview that she considers herself pansexual.

Cyrus announced from the stage that her new album Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz is available to download for free, but the site crashed almost immediately and still wasn't available by press time.
