The album, apparently called 25, comes nearly five years after the singer's breakout album 21.
Could it be? Will we finally have a new album from Adele?
After nearly five years, it appears so. And keeping with the British singer's age theme for each album she releases, it will most likely be called 25.
Early Wednesday, the LGBT ally shared a candid open letter with her Twitter and Facebook followers that gives weight to the industry buzz saying a new album will happen by the end of this year.
It's the singer's first studio album since 2011's 21, which featured the mega hits "Someone Like You," "Rolling In The Deep," and "Rumor Has It." That record, incidentally, just happens to be the biggest-selling album of the decade so far.
"My last record was a break-up record and if I had to label this one I would call it a make-up record," Adele writes in her open letter. "I'm making up with myself. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did."
"Turning 25 was a turning point for me, slap bang in the middle of my twenties," she continues. "Teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully-fledged adult, I made the decision to go into becoming who I'm going to be forever without a removal van full of my old junk. I miss everything about my past, the good and the bad, but only because it won't come back."
"25 is about getting to know who I've become without realising. And I'm sorry it took so long but, you know, life happened."
