Forget the ballads and the Disney tunes. Pioneer gay rocker Elton John proves he can still rock out on his new single "Looking Up."
The song is the first single from John's 33rd album, Wonderful Crazy Night, which will be released February 5. It is a leap back in time to the 68-year-old musician's 1970s heyday.
In the song, John pounds out a peppy piano line over electric guitars and drums. He even delivers the lyrics, all about enjoying life, in a lusty growl.
While "Looking Up" definitely cooks, the video for the song is more subdued. Impressionistic paint doodles create shapes, some resembling the musician's iconic looks over the years. Time to whip out those '70s-era stage costumes, Elton!
