Adele Debuts New Song 'When We Were Young'

As a preview for her upcoming appearance on Australia's 60 Minutes, Adele has released an exclusive excerpt from the program, a stirring live performance video for a new piano-driven ballad called "When We Were Young."

The British singer recently told Rolling Stone "When We Were Young" is her favorite song on her eagerly anticipated third album, 25, available Friday.

The stripped-down song surges with raw power. During its rousing choruses, Adele belts out:

Let me photograph you in this light
In case it is the last time
So we might be exactly like we were
Before we realized
We were sad of getting old
It made us restless
I'm so mad I'm getting old
It makes me reckless
It was just like a movie
It was just like a song
When we were young...

The singer also performs live on this Saturday's episode of Saturday Night Live with host Matthew McConaughey. It will be her first appearance on the show since 2008.
